The World Languages Institute at Bellevue College has one of the few Farsi (Perisan) language programs in the Seattle-Bellevue area. Our classes are a great way to learn Farsi.
Get started learning Farsi (Persian)
Farsi (Persian) is spoken by more than 70 million people and is the official language of Iran. The World Languages Institute Farsi classes are designed for adults with little or no experience in the Farsi language. Farsi classes introduce you to basic vocabulary and expressions that will allow you to speak Farsi in everyday situations.
Our Farsi lessons are lively and interactive, and easy to fit into your schedule. Classes meet once a week in the evening for eight weeks. The instructor is a native Farsi speaker with extensive teaching experience. Our Farsi classes focus on conversational skills, as well as how to read and write the Farsi alphabet. Lessons include how to:
- Engage in simple conversations
- Ask and respond to common questions
- Use the Farsi alphabet to write simple sentences
- Read basic written materials
- Interact in social situations in a culturally appropriate manner
